About Me:

I created Whiskey Rock Planning + Consulting in 2019 and bring 20 years of experience specializing in place-based economic development, land use planning, grant writing and infrastructure development as a planning director, board member, funder, program officer and principal fiscal/economic analyst for a leading national consultant. Prior to founding Whiskey Rock Planning + Consulting, I spent eight years as the Planning and Community Development Director of Sandpoint, Idaho, the nation's 7th fastest micropolitan growth area in 2017, where I presently serve as Mayor. I was appointed to serve on Governor "Butch" Otters Workforce Development Taskforce in 2017 and I currently serve as Vice Chairman of the Idaho Economic Advisory Council. My planning, nonprofit and consultant work throughout the West has provided me with a unique perspective and deep experience working with developers, units of local government, foundations and nonprofits.

I know first-hand the challenges rural western communities face— tax revenue, transportation, land use codes, permitting, affordable housing, economic vitalization strategy and more. I have the land use permitting, project management and agency experience to ensure that your project, vision or strategy can be articulated and executed with efficiency.
